At SoCal Surf Lessons, we keep booking simple — no upfront payment required. However, when you reserve a time, we commit instructors and turn away other customers. For that reason, we have the following cancellation policy in place.

 

1. Cancellations & Changes

24 Hours or More in Advance

No problem — we get it.

If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your lesson, there is no charge.

Simply call or text us at 760-672-2770.

 

Less Than 24 Hours Notice

Cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled lesson may be subject to a cancellation fee.

This helps cover instructor time that has already been reserved for you.

 

No-Shows

If you do not show up for your scheduled lesson without notice, you will be charged the full lesson amount.

 

2. Why We Charge for Late Cancellations

We schedule instructors in advance and often turn away other bookings to hold your spot.

Late cancellations and no-shows directly impact our team — this policy helps us operate fairly for everyone.

 

3. Weather & Ocean Conditions

Safety always comes first.

If we cancel due to unsafe conditions (surf, weather, etc.), you will not be charged, and we’ll help you reschedule.

 

4. Rescheduling

Need to move your lesson?

• 24+ hours notice: No charge

• Less than 24 hours: Subject to availability and may incur a fee

We’ll always do our best to accommodate when possible.

 

5. Group Bookings (5+ People)

Group lessons require additional instructor coordination.

• 72+ hours notice: No charge.

• 24–72 hours: May be subject to a partial charge.

• Less than 24 hours: May be charged in full.

 

​6. Rentals

• 24+ hours notice: No charge.

• Less than 24 hours: May be subject to a cancellation fee.

• Once rental has started: No refunds or credits.

 

7. Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that emergencies happen.

If something unexpected comes up, please reach out — we review these on a case-by-case basis and will always try to be fair.
